Union minister Chiranjeevi appears to be afraid of the YSR Congress chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.
It
is being discussed in political circles that Chiru is disturbed by
media reports that the Congress high command was thinking of an
electoral tie up with the YSR Congress party in the 2014 elections.
As
Jagan clearly stated that his party would not have any alliance with
the BJP or any other communal party, Congress leadership has been
considering having a tie up with Jagan said sources. The party has also
taken note of Jagan’s earlier statement that his party would support the
UPA after the elections. As all surveys have been suggeting that
Jagan’s YSRC in Seemandhra and TRS in Telangana would sweep the
elections, Congress high command appears to be thinking that it would be
a safe bet to have electoral alliance with Jagan. Political observers
are pointing that though all others have been strongly attacking Jagan,
the Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy has been observing restraint.
Informed sources state that Kiran knows the thinking of the high command
and was refraining from criticizing Jagan as he does not want an
embarassing situation later, when the party opts to join hands with
Jagan.
It is in this context that Chiranjeevi is worried,
say sources. It is learnt that the former Mega Star is worried that if
the party depends on Jagan, his own importance would be reduced.
Chiranjeevi stating that Jagan’s economic offences were so serious that
he would never come out of jail, is his wishful thinking say Congress
sources. They say it is the wish of Chiranjeevi that Jagan should not
come out of jail at least till elections.
